The exceptional musicians and singers, particularly the drummer and keyboardist, backed up the commanding performance. Valley View Concerts amphitheater is small, making it more intimate than some others - a good thing. The Improvement Movement's voice, as strong as it was in younger days, covered his entire career from the sixties to the current covers album now out, familiar and unlike some other older singers who struggle to achieve the quality of their more youthful vocal recordings. The venue could be improved - the extra expense should provide something more comfortable than a narrow, cramped, plastic seat with less space than you get at most weddings. Even diminutive fans were shoulder to shoulder, not because they were overcome with the warmth of the performance and wanting to snuggle up to their significant other. The practice of funneling the entire audience out a double-file path through the casino, presumably to encourage gambling after the event, seemed a bit absurd and took an inordinate amount of time. When you are on your feet clapping your hands with the rest of the audience, the seat doesn't matter as much; and there were many times we were on our feet. Bottom line, Improvement Movement provided a memorable experience.
